Our Story.

“Some of my earliest memories are of my dad walking me hand in hand to our smoke house where I would pick the best looking piece of smoked meat. He would bring it in the house and thin slice it for me.”

The Origin Story

Nena Cosic came to the Tri-Cities as a Bosnian refugee, carrying little more than the food memories of her mother and grandmother. Two decades later, those recipes became a business, and that business became Cafe Magnolia.

She started at home, making charcuterie boards and European pastries for neighbors and friends. Then a shared kitchen. Then a food truck. Then, in June 2022, the doors of her own cafe opened in Kennewick.

The copper coffee pots behind the counter were flown from Sarajevo. The baklava comes from her mother's recipe. The Spartak cake is built layer by layer, just as she learned it.

"All the major decisions in life are made over a cup of coffee," Nena says. "I want people to slow down here."

More Than a Cafe

Cafe Magnolia is a European-inspired patisserie, a full-service catering operation, and a private event space. Veteran-owned and family-operated, it is one of the only places in the Tri-Cities where you can sit down with a Bosnian coffee and feel, for a moment, like you are somewhere else entirely.
